Got Airbag Fault codes home

Post by FarmerPug »

Ive finally got round to taking the car to hobson electronics the people who have a diagnostic reader near me, but anyhow he reset the light but it come back on because it was a permanent fault, and they dont know how to fix things so i got the man just to print the list of fault codes related to the airbag. Otherwise the car got a clean bill of health although the machine picked up voltage spike on the bsi from the time it went mad. Anyhow heres the codes:

Total Codes: 004

CODE001:
A06 right side belt permeant module ignition fault - short circuit

CODE002:
A06 left side belt permanent module ignition fault - short circuit

CODE003:
[1e,ed,a,8], permanent please refer to fault relevant technical manual

CODE004:
P0A07 Front left side permanent module ignition fault - short circuit

so then whats all this mean the third code he didnt understand at all, but with these codes what do i have to check next?

forgot to add this bit at the top of the printed reciept:
X431 DIAG Report LAUNCH

I've got no idea about the codes, I had a quick google but all I found was a talking horse. You know what I think though...

Bob knows, engine ECUs regularly throw out spurious codes so it could be nothing. Or it could be your original fault :?

is there a wire coming from the airbag ecu which sends this signal, would it perhaps be possible to stop this signal by cutting a wire which is sending the fault signal or would that cause another fault signal

PROBLEM SOLVED:
Took all the wires apart and re did them with terminal blocks, took the steering wheel centre out and while at it took out the cruise control stalk and put it back in with a post it note on both sides keeping it in place firmly, put the battery back in and hey presto the airbag light has left and went to a better place, the cruise control worked after this, too early to say if the crusie has been fixed but the stalk is in tight.
