Wipers don't work after electrical flooding

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Wipers don't work after electrical flooding

Post by disarmsox »

Hi

From the beginning:

Had the alternator replaced, then started having weird electric problems. The lights would suddenly start switching on by themselves, and then off again. Then they came on and wouldn't switch off, so had to disconnect the battery. Then all the dashboard went crazy, wipers stopped working, and like the following thread:-

Under the carpet was flooded with water. Shocking!

So, after replacing the battery (that needed replacing too- £ker-ching!£) I managed to get it started and I've since started to dry it all out with paper towels and a hand dryer.

However, as yet, the wipers still don't work. The fuse (F25 according to the manual) looks OK.

I understand there is a relay somewhere, and a stork and motor, what would be the next step? I don't know if the wipers failing at the same time is coincidental, or not.

Cheers

take the fuse out fully and test it, i overlooked a blown fuse one day, its easy to do without fully taking them out, and all out 1 at a time and check them because i think the book and the fuse locations arent all the same
