Lexia PP2000 Machine

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Lexia PP2000 Machine

Post by FarmerPug »

Im seriously considering buying this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 1528wt_907
160euro, which is £135.90 in Pounds.
Waue1978 brought it up eariler in another post and now ive decided to go for it. Ive got a friends car displaying ANTIPOLLUTION FAULT, and i want to actually get to the roots of my cruise control issue. Is this really what i need, and does anyone who has one (dogslife i think) have any good printscreens of it working on their computers. Is it compatible with windows 7? Oh and any service box documents on it.

From what I've read of PP2000, it needs Windows XP. You could potentially pick up a half-knackered WinXP laptop (really doesn't need to be anything remotely powerful or modern) from eBay for a hundred quid, possibly less. Or a WinXP netbook.

You may also be able to get away with using a Windows XP virtual machine (i.e. using VMWare or Sun VirtualBox to host a different operating system on top of your Windows 7 or MacOS instance).

I've run it on XP pro & mostly on daughter's 5yr-old, cast-off, laptop with XP home edition.

(I suspect it really needs DOS)

Don't ask me how to install it, or fight your way round keygens & such, I've forgotten, but it took me hours.

On ServiceBox, go into 'Suscriber services' & select 'Dignostic procedures (Beta), choose the middle option:
You also have access to diagnostic procedures for less recent vehicles: click here
Then look through the 'Peugeot Planet System' stuff.....

Note the 'temporary' nature of this info - so copy anything of use.

Right ive blew the dust off my old dell, ordered it a new battery to make it portable again (its already got a new lcd screen, keyboard and 4gb of ram added and still sh*t compared to the mac) so it canbe used for the lexia stuff, ive ordered one of them so should come just in time for the 25th. Then hopefully ill be able to sort out my friends 406, then look at all the crazy settings i can fiddle with on mine. Or be immensley dissapointed by some technical fault with the machine.

Mostly lack of a working EOBD port on my car - which turned out to be a fuse gone.
Lack of familiarity or any kind of support meant i didn't trip over the solution until I bought a Galletto & it wouldn't work either.

Tried installing PPS and Lexia on Win7 and apparently failed. Setup refuse to run on Win7. Had to install xp and Win 7 as dual boot and install PPS and Lexia on expee, rather than going for vitualization.

I know nothing about mac, purely using windows stuff. Theoretically you should be able to but me no expert to comment on that. I've done using the boot menu of windows XP. I can either select xp or 7 to boot up the laptop. PPS is acronym for Peugeot Planet.

On my car, it was F4 in the engine fusebox - but it can vary, (it was F14 on mjb's V-reg coupe). If all esle fails, cehck all the 10A fuses.
