Heater demister vent control u/s

Hi ! Blower works but cannot select footwell area, stuck on vents. Can anyone help ?

hi what year 406 do you have ?

is it climate control or manual circle dials ??

It's a 2000 on a W. No dials, LCD ? Can vary blower speed and temperature but not direction ?

Sorry, confused dot Pug, too many. It's a 2003 and has LCD, no dials.

So push button climate control, rather than twisty dial air conditioning. The flap is controlled by a stepper motor (read that as "very expensive box with a tiny motor and a few plastic gears inside"

), the one on the inlet flap is well known for being made out of chocolate but we don't hear much about the others. First port of call I reckon would be to check the connections to the climate control board.

If it turns out to be the vent flap/stepper motor, try http://www.neatcarparts.co.uk, got mine from them for around £79.99, quite a bit cheaper than Peugeot
