outside temp gauge???

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

outside temp gauge???

Post by PugMan84 »

hi,new here,

i have a 1999 2.0 HDi LX saloon,i have a question about part of the dash.

i dont have climate control i have the normal heating with round dials to turn for the heat/cold and direction flow.just above this is the rear heated window switch and the hazard switch.just to the right of the hazard switch is a LCD screen.

what is this LCD screen for???

all it displays is -- flashing or 70' 0c

is this a temp gauge for the temp outside? i assume it is because no stalks on the steering wheel allow the screen to display anything else other than the 2 flashing -- or the 70' 0c readings.if it is a outside temp gauge then obviously it is not 70' 0c outside lol so i assume the temp sender thing is no good? is this the little thing that sticks out under wing mirror? if it is how do i change it to show the correct readings?

many thanks! mark.

the sensor is £22 from dealers.

you will need to remove the passangers side wing mirror glass and solder a new one to the existing cable.
cutting the faulty sensor off 1st.

you can get them from your local scrap yard (just make sure they dont see you taking it out the mirror cos most scrap yards will not split it from the mirror. they think its part of the mirror
