A/C - Working then not working then working

Hello boys and girls of the 406 Owners Club for the UK and beyond!

My A/C is playing up, without doing any diagnostic work yet - i'll ask the question as to what might be causing this in my D8 STDT

With the air con button on (green light showing) the a/c will work intermittently - we can be driving around without it working (green light still on) then randomly it will start to work while you drive around and typically won't turn off until the engine is turned off or you make the mistake of turning it off at the button...

Any idea's before i pull the car apart in the dark?

Sounds like the gas pressure is low and it's scavenging. Mine is doing the same, need to get it topped up!
