rear window mech D8 estate

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Hi keith,
as far as ican see the only differnce in the doors on the Estate and the saloon is the top of the Door the Frame part,
the Lower part looks the same to me,
ithink someone Else mentioned on the Forum that too not so long ago icarnt remeber who it was tho,

Might be worth double checking that tho ,

I guess you mean electric...

Yes they are -

9223 37 WINDOW LIFTER LEFT - ELECT CONTR RR WINDOW LIFTER + LOCK SYSTEM AND 4 DOORS SALOON/EST UNTIL RPO No. 07511 (Tue 3 Jun 1997)
9224 38 RIGHT - ELECT CONTR RR WINDOW LIFTER + LOCK SYSTEM AND 4 DOORS SALOON/EST UNTIL RPO No. 07511
9223 56 LEFT - ELECT CONTR RR WINDOW LIFTER + LOCK SYSTEM AND 4 DOORS SALOON/EST SINCE RPO No. 07511 + 6437 RS (1) (no idea what that is, it's not in the parts catalogue anyway)
9224 57 RIGHT - ELECT CONTR RR WINDOW LIFTER + LOCK SYSTEM AND 4 DOORS SALOON/EST SINCE RPO No. 07511 + 6437 RS (1)
(that's D8&9)

There also seems to be 2 different window glasses but the only change seems to be the clip that holds it on to the bottom rail - it's either a screw or a clip on D8s but just the screw on D9s so I'm thinking the clip only applies to the earlier mech. which I'd think you'd be unlikely to come across.

There are two different sized regulators, even for the same year on estates, the mounting holes in the doors are spaced further apart for some reason.
98, Executive turbo estate in aluminum silver. The stealth wagon! Now departed, New project Xsara VTR-8 in progress, Next Project, 406 D8 / JAP. So will be looking for a 406 again when the xsara is done!
