indicators

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Post by andymacg »

has anyone had this happen to their pug?

driving along as normal, and went to indicate, no lights or click from the flasher unit, then go over a bump then use the indicators and they work, had the switch cover off last night in work to check the plug on the back of the switch and was in tight and the indicators was working ok

anyone got any ideas?

If it's a D8 I'd suggest you need to start looking for a replacement stalk. Shouldn't be too expensive for a used one...

One mysteriously fell into my pocket while rescuing a solid crank pulley from a 306 XUD. Odd. :?

It could be the connector on the back of the hazard switch. Or the switch itself.

D'oh! I forgot about that  If memory serves you can't drive a 406 without a working hazard switch because it's required for the indicators to function. Much more likely than a stalk going for both directions

Sounds about right
I had the radio, mfd, air con unit and switches out whilst painting and tried to drive off but had to pull over and reconnect the hazard switch back up before continuing

Splendid :cheesy:

The indicators are routed through the hazard switch on lots of cars
