flashing lights on symbol

I just did a 120 mile run in my 2002 110 Rapier estate and when i pulled up at a junction i noticed the "lights on" green symbol on the dash flashing,not flickering but flashing like a warning,the headlights were on with no flickering,i turned the lights off and on again and all was o.k.no flashing symbol,any ideas as i've never seen it before.

I'll check all the bulbs in the morning but i didn't think pugs had the ability to tell you when a bulb was out.

Perhaps condensation within a bulb, or damp conector/cluster, with all this shite weather
ive seen bad bulbs create these sort of gremlins before, just a thought mate,
might not be that but worth a look just incase

It was just weird as it was a definate flashing at regular intervals like and indicator warning light.

Did you have your foot on the brake pedal when it did it?
Head lights used to flicker on the d9 ihad, bad bulb but a rear bulb weird car

Possibly as i was at a junction and tend not to rely on the handbrake,i'll give it a check over in the morning.

406 dosent have one does it

I think it's a new & previously undocumented BSI glitch.

The 406 doesn't have any bulb failure detection circuitry
D9 warning lights are LED's
It's not meant to flash the dip headlight sysbol
Did you have the indicators on & was the indicator w/l working too?

Bet you can't do it again.

The only thing I could think of was a bad earth on the tail lights, brake lights and indicators on and the bad earth also affecting the dip beam indicator light.

The indicator wasn't on as the comms 2000 is shot ha ha,no seriously the indicator was'nt on and i've been thinking as when i got where i was going the auto lights were on as i went to switch the lights off while ticking over and a i could'nt and thats when i found it was activated,i did'nt do it as i don't have them set on auto.
