- How do I check if the car is wired for it (51-plate com2000 LX if that's any help)
- If I have the wiring, what, other than installing the control stalk will I need to do, I presume it needs someone with a PP2000 to turn it on, anything else required?

Cruise Control Wiring?
It looks like I'll have a little bit of money spend on the car in the new year and it occured to me that I'd really appreciate cruise control, This raises two questions:

Ah, DNA RIP.
Check for wiring for a second brake light switch, the connector should be red. You'll obviously need this switch too.
