Dash Lights

Post by gumby6371 »

This may sound like a silly question but should I have a dipped or main beam light on the dash of my D8 LX?

I was just thinking about MOT time with the new regulations about warning lights having to work on the dash.

You should have both :) Bottom line, towards the right hand side.

The bulbs have probably gone, they're T5 twistlock type things. I've replaced mine with LED versions but some people hate them, the choice is yours.

Thanks for the quick response.

Out with the clocks it is, maybe I should have checked the bulbs when I was fixing my speedo a couple of weeks ago  oh well

You might want to check or just replace some of the other bulbs whilst you're at it if they haven't been done recently, especially safety critical ones (coolant, oil pressure, etc). I seem to remember the normal filament ones being £3-4 for 10 from my LMF.

Just FYI if you're interested, these are the LEDs I used once I got fed up of replacing blown filament bulbs: http://www.lightec-autostyle.co.uk/xeno ... -p-24.html

This might be of use as well:

Will do, I picked up 10 bulbs for £3.50 last week when I was doing the backlight in my clock.
