Guess i got an ECU fault, after checking pre heat control unit and putting various things back on car, set of to shops, uh uh, 2500rpm max engine revs. No engine manegement light, no running problems etc. Rechecked everything i had off, cant find anything, so guess its ECU gone into safe mode. Anyone know anything to suggest different. Guess i got hefty repair bill coming, might chance second hand ECU unless anyone knows different.
Oh yeah if switch engine off for 2 mins and restart its ok for 20 secs, even drives ok, then drops to 2500rpm. Had battery off for 20 mins but still the same.
Cheers

Yeah Welly it is but thats not the problem, got it booked in at local garage this morning. Think i know what i did wrong, 2 things in fact
1. Never disconnected ECU while testing Pre heat control relay (£30 from Stealers)
2. While removing air filter casing stuck hand into housing and bent all air monitor unit.(£100+)
Hope this as just sent ECU into safe mode and just a reset is needed, if not then found a place in Plymouth that repairs and reprograms ECU for £90 ish.
Will post codes if possible after reading.
Cheers

Well just had codes read - wow ECU was overloaded so many old codes surprised it even ran. Cleared all old codes, only 2 came back -
1. Air con relay fault
2. Mass air flow sensor - only reading 19 ?? when should be in 100+ when driving.
In other words ECU thinking hardly any air getting in so limits fuel + engine etc.
Part on order £85+vat fitted tomorrow. £ 25 for code readings
All in all costly mistake for me - never again but still a relief.
