Fuse holder in headlight
I recently discovered an inline fuse holder installed in the passenger side headlight for the dipped beam. It had terminal blocks holding it in place which were giving bother, but my question is why was a fuse put there in the first place?
Re: Fuse holder in headlight
Has someone been running something off the lights?
wheres the wire go to or as the fuse been added to the original wiring?

Re: Fuse holder in headlight
Before i got the car nothing was done to the electrics bar the tow bar which looks aftermarket. There is just an inline fuse holder inside the passenger side lamp cluster the live feed to the dipped beam has the fuse in it, which is quite strange, what would it need a fuse there when there should be one in the fusebox.lozz wrote:Has someone been running something off the lights?

Re: Fuse holder in headlight
if its on the standard wiring iwouidnt see why adding a fuse wouid have a use,
if the car as had aftermarket alarm or something then thatd make sense,
The only time ive seen fuse holders and connectors added are on ex plod cars

Re: Fuse holder in headlight
I left it there yep, although soldered it in to keep the connection good (done the soldering in that video about the welton panel) i just wondered what sort of electrical problem its trying to sort out.
Re: Fuse holder in headlight
What head light bulbs are in it, are they standard or have they been upgraded,
some aftermarket ones can burn the wiring perhaps theyve had some expensive bulbs in there in the past Hence the added fuse,
