Outside temperature sensor

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Matt,

if memory serves the back cover levers off near the hinge, then you can pop the mirror off it's retaining clips.
From there you should be able to access the screws which hold the mechanism to the outer casing.
Removing the internals is a bit like a chinese puzzle, it looks impossible but you keep moving it around then suddenly it's in 2 pieces and you have no idea how it happened.

Apologies for being a bit vague but that's what happened to me when I was changing the outer casing on mine. Hopefully you won't have to strip it down that far to fit the sensor.

Btw on my D8 the outer casing was identical for manual and electric so I assume D9's are the same.
