central locking kit for d9
Hi sorry to sound thick but we all start somewhere, just bought a universal kit for my d9 but they sent instructions for a d8, they said they should be same but i dont think so, as i was told once that d9 doesnt have lock box behind glovebox and can anyone tell me if i have deadlocks as was told this made a difference to wiring. thanks for any help .

Re: central locking kit for d9
Which kit have you orderd mate,
how many wires is on the box?
its a case of working out what wires are the Trigger wires,
the 406 have deadlocks altho that shouidnt matter,

First of all dont fit the box in the door, Bad idea, itl get soaked and itl end up fubard,
wiring? you dont need all thems wires for the central locking, you shouid be able to narow it down to around 3 wires,
work out which wires are needed for the central locking and tape the others up in a neat bundle and go backto them later,
as of the Trigger wires for the central locking you only need to go into the wiring on the drivers door, (Scotch locks)
idont know what colour wires the trigger wires are and which one is which, (ask someone on here if they know, Mr earwig is the best chap to ask on wiring

There was this but icarnt get the thing to open,. http://www.m-sjoberg-ab.se/pdf/3190info ... bensin.pdf · PDF file
idont know if its my pc,
but ithink that was the Guide, on how to wire into the Bsi for remote locking, carnt find any more on the WWW.

Re: central locking kit for d9
thanks for info, sorry to ask again but where do i stick it and do you know if i am neg or pos feed as the unit wires differently for each one

Re: central locking kit for d9
Best off placed under dash board id say, bezbear wrote:thanks for info, sorry to ask again but where do i stick it and do you know if i am neg or pos feed as the unit wires differently for each one
normaly the aftermarket kit comes with long wires and small box, so you shouid be able to get that under the dash somewhere or even take side pannel off the sides of the centre console and place it there out the way, depending on length of wiring,
re:Neg or pos feed, ive not got aclue what unit uve bought mate, so without seeing wiring diagram of it im lost

As of the wiring on the Actuators on the doors, normaly Pugs wiring is, green (lock) and cream (un-lock) Might be wrong tho,
the reason why people sling these boxes inside the door is ,to make the job easier,
they just take a postive feed off the window motor, there a positive on them which is always permant live,
upto you if you sling it in the door but it may end full of water ingress perhaps wrapping it in cling film may be the way
Re: central locking kit for d9
cheers much appreciated thanks for the info

No probs, bezbear wrote:cheers much appreciated thanks for the info
iforgot to mention, once youve wired that kit up you wont be able to deadlock it,
if you want the deadlocks on you will have to do it by the key ,
central locking shouid work as normal other than deadlocking tho,
