Hi guys hope your all well!
I had a wacky idea to install cruise control. Having done some homework it seemed all that was needed was to plug the stalk in and PP2000 it up.
I bought a cruise control stalk from an SE 406. It is the non limiting type 6242Z9?
I have switches in the pedal box for clutch and braking.
I've enabled the cruise control in the BSI and on the Comms2000 module using the lexia software and upon testing the stalk the switches all test ok.
This thing still isn't working lol if had a scan through the board but this being the 2003 multiplex system it's something that's not been raised before?
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

I did wonder if you had a Siemens equipped HDi90, but note from your previous posts this is a 110HDi? - If so, it should be OK.
On earlier semi-mux cars, cruise only had to be enabled in the engine ecu. Yours may well need this too.
The other conditions you need to fulfil are:
C/C master switch on, (which I guess you have)
Speed > 50 kph
clutch and brake pedals not pressed
4th or 5th gear selected, (it deduces this from road speed vs engine rpm and will aslo fail to engage if either speed signal is in any way intermittent)
C/C 'increase/set' or 'decrease/set' button pressed
Note that it will aslo fail to engage if the 'coherence' between the two brake pedal switches is incorrect, in other words the 'redundant brake switch' must activate before the stop lamp switch as you slowly press the pedal and must also release in the reverse order.

Thanks Doggy, I got two brake switches now. A red one and a white one. When you say coherence, is one ment to be advanced compared to the other by means of adjusting the gap? As I think this is the thing I'm chasing.
Thanks again.

Yes, that's it- see below:

In the above picture, I have the brake pedal pressed slightly and you can see it says,
'main brake switch..........................inactive'
'cruise control switch.........................active'
both should say inactive until you press the pedal, then the 'cruise control switch' should close first, followed by the 'main brake switch'. You should get the inverse as you slowly release the pedal.

Cracking job just tried it out, boy does it feel weird! Is there any indicator/ readout for it or is it speedo only? Its all a bit new to me :-)
Feels like its working ok though get upto 50mph flick it on and set+ and she takes over. Thanks again for your help Doggy how do you keep a cream interior cream? (Can't be easy lol that's why mines black)

No, there's no indication whatsover. Seems a bit odd initially, but once you're used to it, anything else seems garish and unnecesary.

Easy. 99% of it's life. it's only me in it, or me & the dogs in the boot. Net result - the driver's seat's about worn out, the boot area's grubby, but otherwise the interior would pass for a year old. We toured Scotland earlier this year, with my son doing some of the driving - I immediately noticed how firm yet comfy the other seats are. Oh well.MJBD8 wrote:how do you keep a cream interior cream?

Lol! Well done guess it's the sofa/bum groove syndrome I do miss my velour seats from my d8 they tilted too. My d9 is fabric and doesn't tilt at all.
one man and his pilots seat...
I really appreciate your help today there isn't a lot around for the 03-04 HDi. The Heinz jackanory book was crap as its 99-02 and few pictures. The Internet hasn't much to offer either until you come here and consult an oracle lol
