washer power to front windscreen wipers

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

The pump could be broke, but the pumps seem of decent enough quality. However to remove the resivior to get the pump which sits on the side of the resivoir you first need to remove the drivers side front wheel, then the wheel arch liner, when its off its easy to see the bolts holding the tank in place, but remove the filler neck first before taking any bolts out of the way. When you get the pump off connect a multimeter to see if there is 12v when the squirter is pulled back.

If there is power then the pump is gone, if there is no power, and all the fuses have been checked then it could be the stalk itself or com2000 i had one where the squirter didnt work and it had to be replaced.

its strange that the jets would affect it, the wheelarch liner covers the pump quite well, and driving through puddles never causes problems. Although the connection could have got wet and corroded, thats why its worth taking the pump out to see if there is power, its eaier and nicer to fix that than a com2000

Fuse 14, engine fuse panel. To get to the pump, if you're careful, it's just possible to unscrew the from under the bumper, remove the clips at the front and sproink it out of the way. Failing that, you only need to take the front half of the liner off. Check power to the motor, if you're lucky it's just corrosion on the terminals. Btw it will leak screenwash everywhere when you pull the pump out. There's also the chance the rubber seal will split . mine did :frown: If the pump is dead you should be able to get something similar from a factor, don't go to Peugeot unless you're feeling particularly flush...
