Help with a part number

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Help with a part number

Post by ccordex406 »

Hi you doing guys....Im doing the MFD Retrofit proyect with my 98' D8 but I need help finding the part number for the wiper stalk that has the button that controls the function on the display.
I was reading the sticky about this topic but I couldnt find the right part number.....
Does it matter if the part comes from a D8 or D9?

Thanks for you help!

That's because everyone just scoured ebay to find what we need

There's a good number of wiper stalks - the estate has rear wiper controls whereas the saloon doesn't, there's ones for auto wipers and ones for intermittent wipers, then there's the t/c button option... That makes 8 different options I've just listed, 4 of which have the button, 3 of which may not be suited for your car...

If you've got a saloon, the estate one will work. I don't know if the auto/intermittent wipers are compatible (it may just be a different decal, or something totally different)

No, you're safe using pre-COM2000 D9 stalks in a D8. COM2000 is the fancy (expensive!) multiplexed unit with both light and wiper stalks attached

Tricky...

6239 A4 (NFP) - W/O REAR SCREEN WASH WIPE AND HEADLAMP WASHWIPE EXCEPT INTERMITT AUTO FR WIPER BLADE + WATER LEVEL EXCEPT INTERMITT AUTO FR WIPER BLADE
6239 A3 (NFP) - REAR SCREEN WIPER AND HEADLAMP WASHWIPE EXCEPT INTERMITT AUTO FR WIPER BLADE + WATER LEVEL EXCEPT INTERMITT AUTO FR WIPER BLADE
6239 K9 - FRONT WIPER BLADE W/O RAIN SENSOR
6239 A8 - FRONT WIPER BLADE WITH RAIN SENSOR AND W/O REAR SCREEN WASH WIPE
6239 A6 (NFP) - FRONT WIPER BLADE WITH RAIN SENSOR AND REAR SCREEN WIPER

Service Box doesn't tell anyone which stalks have the button on the end. I think people usually just look on ebay for the stalk with the right functions and with the arrows near the button on the end of the stalk. NFP means they don't make them any more, K9 and A8 carried on into early D9s for the saloons but the stalks for estates are different part numbers throughout. I'd say A8 is the one you're after but I don't really feel happy guessing with other people's money...

You can clearly see the arrows on this one - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peugeot-406-6 ... 3a77b5d89d
Possibly on this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-GENUINE-W ... 3a7014dae5

I bump this thread since I just received my mfd.

Since I'm doing this project, might as well change both stalks (lights and wiper) but I have no clue which one should work for my car.

Any inputs?

Thanks again for your help...I'll soon post pics

If you post your VIN number, someone will look up the correct part(s) for you.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Thanks you guys for all the inputs. I finally found the parts that I needed, the stalk number is 623961 which is everywhere around ebay. The 6239 a8 is similar but has more functions that my car doesnt have.

I thank again for your help. I'll keep you guys posted as soon as I finish my project!
