Hi can anyone tell me when you operare the remote control for the sat nav/clock settings does the end of the remote in the smoke glass end light red when operated, ive put new batteries in and checked connections but when i press a function it is not working the settings and i dont know if it should show a red light when operated or not

No, there is no visible indication it's working, (other than the response of the MFD).

I think it is infrared.

Point it at a digital camera and see what it shows on the screen
Remember - it only takes a few inches of water to drown a 406 don't make the same mistake I made! The V6 Exec is no more.

cheers for that info tried one of my tv remotes and yes shown up with a digital camers but not with the car remote looks like its broke
