Horn question

Allways wanted to replace that gay horn of 406,it really sound bad,like some angry PMS duck attacking
So today i got some spare time and went to replace that horn with horn from peugeot 309 which sound so much better.
First,i simply unplugged the wires and connect wire to horn contact from 309,because horn from 309 doesnt have the same connecting system like 406.
When i conected wires,the horns from 309 sounded different than usual,dont know why.
Completely other sound from normal,like cars from 1920s

Does anybody knows why this happens?

Bloody rain is falling 4 days now and i will continue with this work when it stops but i just wanted to see if somebody had this problem before.

It's probably a different amount of power getting to it so it cannot run at its best
