Hi,
We lost the remote key a couple of years back and had a new one made (not remote) by a local dealer. Since that I have acquired pp2000 hoping I could code the keys myself. (Don't know the price in the UK, but a remote key is about 300 pound if done by a peugeot dealer)
I bought two of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/FOR-Peugeot-206 ... c2&vxp=mtr and put in the right blade done by a local locksmith. Then used pp2000 to code the keys, success. Now the car starts up just fine with the new keys.
My issues are that I can't manage to sync the remote to the car for remote central locking. I have tried about everything I could find on the internet, like holding the locking button for 10 sec with ignition on, pressing once, pressing twice, disconnect battery proc. and sync.
Anyone know what the problem could be?
I was aware that the ebay site don't state 406 compatibility, but I took a chance.
Car is D9 2002 Peugeot 406 1.8 85KW EW7 J4 (6FZ)

Re: Synchronizing remote keys
Hello Nikolay, and welcome to the forum.
You should be able to get the car to 're-learn' the new key(s) using PP2000, but you also need the 4-character PIN code that would have been supplied with the car when new.
If you have the code it is easy. If not, the PIN code can be recovered from the 17-digit VIN code, either by the dealer, or maybe on one of the other forums. At one time on http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/ some members would provide this service free of charge but I understand this is no longer the case.
Maybe if you do an internet search for Peugeot VIN to PIN.....

Re: Synchronizing remote keys
Hi, and thanks for quick reply.
Still have the pin from when the car was new. The new keys (or more correctly new key, since I damaged the transponder on the other circuit board
, and have to order another online) has been learnt and starts up the engine. It's the remote that's not working. Now the new key practically works as a non-remote key.
Have tried every method i could find online about syncing the remote and still no-go.
ps. the keys I bought online had the transponder fixed to the circuit board. I know there are similar keys where the transponder is loose from the board. Could this be of importance? After all it did start the car.
cheers
