Strange electrical fault.

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Strange electrical fault.

Post by jasper5 »

Has anyone come across anything like this....

Last week I went out to help my mate who does diagnostics get a Citroen Berlingo (Peugeot Partner) van started (2003 model).

I ran through everything using Lexia, but only found fault codes which were not related to what the starting problem was, except an obscure immobiliser one.

I cleared all the codes and the van started and all was well....anyway the van is doing exactly the same today and I wondered if anyone had come across this problem with any Peugeot or Citroen.

The problem shows itself as a fault when you turn the key to put ignition on and try to start it, it won't start then as you switch off the ignition all the dash lights stay on even if the key is taken out, plus, the key fob doesn't work to open the doors on central locking.

My mate has had this same problem with a few Peugeots, but never been able to start them until I went through everything with Lexia.

Anyone any ideas?

TIA.
