Can anyone point me towards a reliable place to buy blank keys complete with transponder and central locking?
I have managed to add PP2000 to my Christmas list so I'll soon have the ability to code it myself all I need is a key!
Usual thanks in advance
Gareth

Thanks Lozz,
Timpsons quoted me £50 for a non remote key coded to my car, not sure what they'd quote for just the key if I said I was going to swap the transponder over myself.

idont like timpsons ithink they are awaste of time,
irang them up for a key for wifes car, basic key just for a spare.
over the phone price 45 quid.. when igot there they wanted 80quid and afurther fee to go to car and programe it (not that id let them anywhere near it
)
and a wait of 3 days for them to order key in. they are a joke.
theyre ok for yale/mortice keys that's about it.
best off finding propper locksmiths most now are clued up and not out to fleece people.
sometimes you can find locksmiths working on markets/carboot sales ifind they are cheaper when theyre working off site

Re: Where to buy replacement keys?
When I tried to replace my remote control key for my 2000 HDi Peugeot told me the part is obsolete…but they can get the blades and cut them from your id card number.
Re: Where to buy replacement keys?
Can i just comment on Timpsons. It seems that prices and attitudes vary enormously from one Timpsons branch to another. I had a Transponder key done by them in December at the Timpsons in Lowestoft high street ~ cost £25 quid.
The procedure was they put your own key in a machine which tells them if it is one they can do. Yes they can do 406 ones. They got a new transponder chip which was about 15mm long, sellotaped it to the plastic fob of my key. I then went back to the car park where my car was, opened the door with my normal key (this has to be done key in slot NOT by remote) Put key with its piggy backed chip into the ignition, turn two clicks [which is when the dash panels come on but before the starter operates), count to 10, turn back off. Do the key in and count procedure 4 times in succession then take the key and chip back to the shop. They then put the chip on a little window in their magic machine and it tells them whether the chip was successfully programed or not. Mine was. They then cut a key blank using your key as a template, put the blank, chip and fob together and take £25 quid off you. Which i was pleased to give them as Peugeot were looking for about 80 quid and said only a Peugeot dealer could make one. The new key works perfectly.
PS A few days later my mate went in at about 3pm to get one for his 406 but they did not have another suitable blank in stock. Thy ordered it by phone then and there and at 9.30 next morning he got a phone call to say the blank was in. He went back there and like me came away with a perfectly working key for £25. So as i say, seems the service from Timpsons branches is very variable. As far as i know the £25 is supposed to be the standard charge. Just a thought though, if Timpsons shops are franchises' then each owner could, i suppose, set what ever price he wants.

Re: Where to buy replacement keys?
The missus snapped the only key we have in the doorlocl of the new Picasso. We got the broken piece out but sadly Timpsons couldn't help us as the local branch was a small one. I called a place in Winton, just round the corner from me called Access Key and Lock. They supplied me with a brand new key which was also coded to the car for only £15. That is such a good price that I will go back there for one more key and also to get a spare for the 406.
Its nice to get good service, thought I would let you all know how good the shop is.
