I just installed a 278mm battery in my saloon, but of course the cover won't go on top of it anymore. I'm considering either hacking up a normal one (gluing it back together so it fits), or - ideally - if one already exists I would like to put that one on.
The battery fits in the battery box without any issues, it's as if that's the size it's intended for originally. Only the lid is constraining it to 243mm.
Does anyone know if a 278mm cover exists, and if so what the part number may be? Perhaps a Citroen part?
278mm battery cover available?

Re: 278mm battery cover available?
Nope. 406s are the only PSAs that have anything like that and they're all the same throughout production. I tried searching the box and then the lid but they only bring up 406 D8s and D9s. Most PSAs don't have anything like that, Xantias have nothing and 407s & C5s have some sort of cover but no box.
I don't know about the size but the battery in my D9 (D8 was too) is too tall but the cover goes over and the bonnet shuts ok so I don't see any point in monkeying with it.
