New Dashboard Speed/RPM Question

Post by Rolebama »

I fitted a new instrument cluster to my 406 last week, and have noticed what I am not sure is a problem or not. Can anyone with a 2.1TD please tell me what road speeds they get per thousand rpm in the gears? I thought it would be around the 5, 10, 15, 20 and 26mph/1000RPM that I had in the 306, but it reads 30mph per 1000rpm in 5th. Thank you.
(I only fitted instruments, not a complete cluster as I didn't want to run into any odometer reading changes.)

HDi 110's and 2.2's are just under 31 mph/1000 in 5th. I think the 2.1 is similar.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)
