cruise control not working

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Hi & welcome aboard. 8)

Try lifting the clutch pedal with your toe.....

Your engine code is given by characters 6, 7 and 8 of your vin code, for example, mine begins VF38E4HXF.... engine code = 4HX

PP2000 is very inconsistent as to where to find stuff. I've never had a petrol 406, but I think some at least have a cruise control ecu, (diesels don't). Suggest you try a global scan, should at least give you a list of places to look.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Thanks doggy...I saw a switch on the clutch, and another 2 switches on the brake pedal..it makes 3 switches..and all are fitted and ok..I did what u said but still is not working..well what exactly happened my dashboard was removed to repair my AC and everything done and dashboard was replace back all wires were fitted well, also top cylinders gasket was also replaced, since then my cruise stop working ..I used global search but I ddnt see cruise control option, and I guess only pp2000 can locate the exact problem ..am using version 22 china(someone told me I will see more options if I update to latest version of pp2000) and am afraid to update it to version 24 because I might loose the liscence .

Did you find out what engine you have?

Can't promise a cure, but if you add the model, year etc. I may be able to find a diagram or other info that may help.

This is what Service Box shows for your car:

which confirms a separate control unit dedicated to cruise control, so I guess you should be able to find it with PP2k. :?

Any of you people have any petrol + cruise experience?

This is what Service Box shows for every damn car, for some things the filter doesn't actually do anything

From your VIN your build code is 08997, which is 3 days before they went fulll-mux
TRIM LEVEL UPPER MEDIUM PLUS
 Looks like you got everything except ESP

Serdre's telling me for that build code it could either have a control unit (Sirius 80?) or it could just be run off of the ECU/BSI, although after spending ages looking for it I couldn't find this ECU on the diagram, so I went and looked at the "absence of this variant" diagram to see if I could spot the difference and there it was :frown: Both feature an actuator of course.

Errr, who did that? The blower is behind the glovebox...

Hi, Just got my Cruise control working on a HDI saloon 2003. But could not get it working on my 1999 HDI estate model.
The difference is in the indicator switch, The one that I got working has the Comm2000 unit. Just had to set the 2 brake switches up so the correct one came on first, switch it on in the BSI and ECU.
This option was not available in the older non comm2000 model.
