Changing A/C condensor

Post by hammerman »

As title really.Have a 2003 HDI estate, found out today the condensor/rad is leaking.I can get a new one for around £25 cheaper & save myself £120 odd in labour if i do it my self.Anyone ever changed one?I assume the front bumper has to come off.And the system is empty now as the garage drained it to fill it with nitrogen & dye,so now worries about the gas etc.

Yes, and it's fairly easy if you are competent to change the radiator. Taking out the headlights improves the access dramatically. Then remove the radiator mounting bolts which will let the rad tip backwards. then with some fiddling, the condenser can be accessed and removed.
