Two button key work on a one button system

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Two button key work on a one button system

Post by peugeot30v6 »

I am in need of a new key for my Peugeot and the dealer says that they don't supply the 1 button key remote. I was wandering if the newer style two button would work on my system without changing anything.

This is my key

And this is the key I would have to get

You would probably have to get a new BSI to go with it I presume? If you do find a solution, please let me know!

What's wrong with the original key apart from the obviously missing push button switch on the pcb? If it's only the switch that's missing, there are places that do a repair service.
This link is for a two button fob, for example. They may also repair one like yours.

Pretty sure I have some old single button D8 keys with working PCB's but no rubber buttons.
All you would need to do is swap the transponder and blade over and get a button off eBay, then resync the central locking. If I can find them I'll let you know.
