Stray connector behind MFD?

Stray connector behind MFD?
I was swapping the MFD's over last night and noticed an extra connector wrapped around the MFD wires. I was in a bit of a rush so forgot to take a pic but it was grey in colour and about an inch wide and flat.
As mine is a type C display my first thought was it was for a type B display but eBay showed the connectors to be the same.
Any thought on what it may be for? I did wonder whether it had been unplugged from the heater control under previous ownership for some reason but it was midnight by this point and a bit dark to start stripping the dash
I'll grab a pic later if it helps
I should add mine is a 53 plate SE so presumably has pretty much all of the toys already

Something to do with the ShitNav option maybe?

Re: Stray connector behind MFD?
I was thinking that too - the Exec has the EXCELLENT sat-nav so will take a sneaky peek...Welly wrote:Something to do with the ShitNav option maybe?

Re: Stray connector behind MFD?
That's what confused me in the first place, my SE has satnav, cd changer etc.... I can't think of anything extra an exec might have that would plug in there???
TBH I'd forgotten about it until your responses, I'm planning a com2000 change at the weekend so I'll get some pics then.

Re: Stray connector behind MFD?
OK so I finally took a pic
None of the connectors looked remotely like this one.
2 thoughts;
a) cd head unit connection (I have cassette with CD changer in boot)
b) cross over looms for something newer such as the 407 (mine is a fairly late model)
Straws are being well and truly clutched here!
I undid the screws for the MFD, heater control and stereo and double checked that everything was plugged in and no empty slots anywhere.None of the connectors looked remotely like this one.

Can you get any 4 digit numbers off the wires? That would nail it.

Re: Stray connector behind MFD?
Almost looks like a remote stalk connector from pre-mix days. There's nothing similar at the back of my 407s radio.
