service reminder

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

service reminder

Post by NinoB »

I just service my car(EW10) ..fully change the engine oil to (total quartz 5000), change the filter too..after doing that successfully, then try to set the reminder..when I set it , it shows me 20000 for the next service I was like  what went wrong? Is supposed to be 12000, but why mine is high ? Any ideas on how tow bring it low as 12000 or less ?

The car is UK , and before it was showing 12000, so after changing oil and filter I reset the reminder , then it show 20000..I dunno if pp2000 has an important role to play on this issue!

You can change the 'counter' display whilst resetting the thing.....I think you reset it....then press again to change the interval to what you need. The mileage counts down in multiples of 50 I believe.

Thanks Willy, but can U give me a details procedures on how to do it?

Because if I hold the counter button , on the ignition till it count down from 10 - 0, then off the ignition , then on it again it will come back to 20000 again :(

I'd agree with Rolebama on this one, sounds like it's changed to KM, if so it will still be accurate just a little confusing.
Planet should change it back tho if you're that bothered.

Have you seen this by our member Farmerpug:

I am sure you can change the counter by pressing something else in the sequence.

I saw this video, but is only for resetting the service reminder and deactivating using pp2k, BUT NOT REDUCING THE DISTANCE (like mine just changed from 12000 to 20000 while am trying to reduce it back but I cud not)
