Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Key fob re sync issues

Post by blinkinink »

Hi all,

I have a fully functional pp2000 set up, which has helped me diagnose a few things successfully already.

I've been having issues with my keys, as we all seem to at some point in time.
I could not sync them back to the car for the purposes of remote locking.

I sent one of the keys away for new micro switches and a good test for functionality and signal. All worked well. It was returned to me and upon testing, It did indeed unlock the car remotely. It would not however start the car....as it was no longer paired with the immobiliser (wierd, as I'd used that key previously no problem).

So I proceeded to re sync to immobiliser using my cars pin code and pp2000.

Key now starts car fine, but remote locking is non functional.

Upon further inspection of the codes and key writing procedure, I find a report to the effect of " key failed to program as it cannot communicate with the BSI, this may be due to a break in the wiring or corrosion. Please check the system and try again".

I don't really know where to start with something like that. There's just so much wiring that could be at fault.....
Any ideas?
