heater/aircon control unit died

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

heater/aircon control unit died

Post by millard »

Hi all.
I purchased my second 110 HDi Executive estate (2002 model) a few months back and very happy with it so far.

The heater/aircon control unit died the other day, no power at all, it's dead as a Dodo, so I have no demister etc etc.
I checked the fuse according to the wiring diagram in the owner's manual and it's fine.
I pulled it out this evening just for a quick visual check of the connectors and wiring and looks fine.
I've searched through the forum for an hour or so but couldn't come up with anything similar.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
Millard

Thanks Kelv, I'll pm you later, but I'm thinking now that I'd like to check if it's getting power first so will take a voltmeter to the connector pins first then get in touch.

I'd be intrested to see what solves this, I have a P reg SRI which has the same problem. I tested the control panel in a spare mk1 V6 i have knocking around and it works fine! All fuses ok etc, Changed the fan motor/resistor.
