Right indicators stay on even with ignition off
Strange this, my neighbour text me this evening to say I had left my right indicator on!!
Got out there to see all three right indicator lamps permanently on. So unlocked car, started up, tried switch indicator stalk but nothing works except
these three right lamps just stay lit.... even pressing hazards on makes no difference.
So switched off still they stay lit.
Had to disconnect battery in the end, but won't be able to drive it tomorrow like that!
Any pointers on where to look welcomed!
I do have a PP2000 but so far never used it, might be using it tomorrow I guess?
Cheers Steve
PS it's a 2002 406 2.0 Hdi Rapier Estate 110

Found this on the net:
Q&A / Peugeot / 206
A Peugeot 206 question
My Peugeot 206`s right indicator will not turn off. When I change to left indicator the right still stays on. I disconnected the battery but it didn`t solve the problem. Is there anything I can do?
Answer(s)
You probably need a new comms unit. It’s the box that is behind the steering wheel. It controls he indicators, lights wipers and much more. Cheapest place to buy is from Euro Car parts. A guide on how to fit can be found at www.206info.co.uk Karl Dean from England
So could it be the Comms unit?
anyone?
Thanks Steve

Either the com2000 or... I can't think of what else it could be as they're controlled by the com2000 and BSI...

Hi Steve,
Thanks for your reply, how will I know if it's BSi or Comms, will my PP2000 show any faults?

Re: Right indicators stay on even with ignition off
I'm afraid I've no idea. All 6 bulbs are fed directly from the BSI so I'm hoping it isn't that. I suppose what you need is a known "good" com2000 (floppy stalk is ok for diagnostics) to try. I've no idea if planet will show up a fault, I'm guessing no but it might be worth a session.

Re: Right indicators stay on even with ignition off
I will try a session with PP2000 diagnostics....
The good news for now is that after reconnecting the battery this morning, the fault has gone away!!
(for now.....)
Will let you know what PP2000 says

Strangeness
I wonder what it took offence to. May be, if it does it again, it might be worth reseating the connectors on the com.

Re: Right indicators stay on even with ignition off
Do you need to remove the steering wheel / airbag to do that, or is it possible without?

Re: Right indicators stay on even with ignition off
My memory's a bit rusty but, looking at the how to, it looks like I pulled all the connectors off before I took the com off -

It's not immediately obvious but all 4 were at the bottom/back of the com.
Power it all down first! (A face full of airbag often offends...)

Re: Right indicators stay on even with ignition off
One thing I would check is under the drivers carpet. Amazing what madness ensues when the rot, wet and corrosion gets into the connectors down there.

I have a DAV unit with the standard indicator fault from a 2003 fully mux if needed.

Re: Right indicators stay on even with ignition off
You need a comms from an Estate car, or a similar aged 307/206 to fit.
You can plug the replacement in while keeping the old one in place - but you may get an airbag fault, this will ( eventually ) disappear when you plug the old one back in.
