ECU fried...literally :/

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Whuh? I think he's got better things to do with his time...

This is a bit like this viewtopic.php?f=1&t=22355&hilit=no+thro ... e&start=30 . fuel rail pressure sensor but I'm wary of the part's roulette thing.

Sadly this sorry tale looks like it's approaching a thoroughly unsatisfactory end... :(

Needed a car badly over Chrimbo for various reasons, went to pick the brain of a Pug/Cit independent who I've had dealings with years back and after recounting my trials and tribulations he agreed it's a bit of a gamble as to what else has got frazzled and it could be pricey and frustrating.

So I ended up driving away in a slightly tatty but seemingly very mechanically sound Xsara TD with a long MOT and a nice, simple XUD engine :)

Given the 406 is now due an MOT (handbrake, lower engine mount/exhaust flexi + whatever else is found) and a cambelt I think it's probably seen it's last voyage. I'm gonna get a lappy plugged in with PP2000 before I start chopping bits off it, just in case there's a chance of saving it. Such a bloody tidy car and less than 115k on it.

Wounded...
