I'm in a pickle guys. My alternator stopped charging just before christmas and i had to leave it parked at my wifes family home. As no scrappers were open over the holidays i had to wait until today to start searching for a replacement. I had no success today but I'm going to the largest yard around dublin tomorrow and i have a question about the different types of alternators used on 406's. My engine code is RHZ and im just wondering if all rhz engines will have the same alternators on them? Also would RHY engine alternators be the same and suitable for my RHZ engine? I found an rhz alternator today but it was busted and had the code CL15 on it along with a few other numbers. the guy in the scrapyard told me this number was the only number I need to worry about, is this true? I know ideally I should just drive up and take the old one off to compare with any new one i find but its quite a bit away and it would be a lot more traight forward to just get the part first.
Can anyone shed some light on this?

That's what I thought when I saw the OP, there are gazillions of alternators. The fittings *should* all be the same but I wouldn't be at all surprised if they're not

I think the diesel one probably has a higher output for the auxiliary heating so I would think that any diesel one would do.
