how to check engine immobilizer

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

What i can think of: unscrew and remove the bottom steering column jacket, then unplug the transponder aerial (the round thing that slides over the ignition barrel).

Then start your car. It should run for only a few seconds, then it will turn off with a key symbol indicator lit up in the dashboard.

Maybe some-one knows a simpler way?

Or maybe it is possible to cover the black part of your ignition key in aluminum foil to prevent its transponder chip from being read... :D

That's pretty much it....
You can remove the chip from the key, or unplug the receiving ring around the ignition, or unplug the grey lead on the comms unit - any of these will stop the signal from the key to the BSI.

Do you think you may have a problem?
