Update ECU

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Update ECU

Post by barbaren »

Hi guys
I been thinking, since I've been doing service and diagnostics on the car myself. It has never seen a pug mechanic. Would it be a good idea to take it to an dealership, and let them update the ECU? Or would it be a total waste of money

Cheers

I'm sorry, but:
take it to an dealership
??
Please wash your mouth

Serious, I don't think there is an update for your ECU. Peugeots are not Volkswagens!
Current "fleet":
2003 406 Estate 2.0HDi 110 - 7 seater - just hit 710.000 kms :cheesy:
2001 Citroen Saxo 1.6i 8v 100

Previously owned:
2000 406 Sedan 2.0 HDi 90
2000 406 Coupé 2.0i 16v 138 - Riviera Blue

PP2000 user, can help with faults / diagnostics in the Netherlands.

But when you run PP2000 there is an option called update.

It would be a waste of money, taking your beloved car to a stealership!!!!

Just to clarify the lads above; the update message is referring to your pp2000 software itself and not your vehicle/any of your vehicles components!

Rest assured as long as you service and repair your vehicle as necessary, you will be fine!
Oil service, Minor service, Major service and repairs! Wouldn't hurt to check the tyre treads and get your wheels balanced and or rotated... (mind you I don't know what rotating tyres means but I've heard it elsewhere  )

Also I'm pretty sure some garages offer a fee free hassle free no obligation vehicle health check! Give a call to your locals - private garages not the stealers!

Goodluck
