Central Locking Plip not working

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Central Locking Plip not working

Post by Wag »

I disconnected my battery [don't ask]. Everything works ok but the central locking plip [battery fine etc] has stopped, not a really big issue but you don't realise how much you use it until it stops. So, I want to get it going again.

The sequence of ignition pressing buttons etc doesn't work. Peugeot want about £50 to do it [robdogging B£$$%*ds]
Does anyone know anything about those pp2000 kits sold on E Bay for about the same price - are they what I need? read in other threads it might do the job but don't want to invest and find its useless. If its a pp2000 is there a particular one as E bay has loads.

Does anyone in the midlands have a unit that might do it?

Any ideas all suggestions greatfully received

Indeed, you can spend £50 at a dealer. Or you can use that same amount to buy a Lexia cable at Aliexpress and take a little time to get it all up and running. You will be rewarded by having lots of other features like easy diagnostics, fault code resetting and option tweaking, all of which would cost you £50 at a dealer every time you'd walk through their door :cheesy:

I'd advise you to buy a "full chip" variant, like this one: https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/New-Orig ... 85133.html . The cheaper ones sometimes lack a few components, which make that they can be used only for the engine ECU and not the BSI box (which is what you need). If you look at the bottom electronics board, it has a row of seven (white) optocouplers. The cheaper variants miss a few of those.

If you need assistance in getting the PP2000 software up and running i can help you.
