Radio too loud (RD3 PU2473A)

Hi,

I've replaced the original casette radio by a genuine cd radio (clarion RD3 - 2473A), I've vin decoded with pp2000.

This new (brand new, never used) radio is too loud - vol1 almost same volume as old radio vol6-7. I have separated (stock) amplifier in trunk and this is selected in PP2000 setting. What should I adjust, which config parameter should be changed?

Don't know about codes but it sounds as though your amp is being over driven. Is their a low level output for and amp or is it being driven from the speaker output, you need a level of about 600 mv.

There are at least 3 versions of the head unit, the earlier two came with or without the integral amp to drive the speakers and on the final version you could turn the amp off to suit cars with the separate amplifier in the boot.

If you're lucky, yours is the latest version and is settable from PP2000, if you're unlucky you have the wrong one.

The CD player has a built in amp, as the executive models with the boot amp JBL system were all cassette players...
I'm not sure what settings you need in PP2000 though, sorry.

I have two options in PP2000. Configuration of the audio output: amplifier output or loudspeaker output.

Does not matter what I set, both cases too loud - actually there is no difference. Am I unlucky?

i think you should play around with the volume level correction, i saw yours is 0, put it on 10 lets try..

I don't mean to sound rude, but do you press the F1 button to confirm the change?
I'm thinking you should select the Amp output...
I think the volume level correction applies to the volume of the stereo increasing the fastest you drive..?

No problem, but I've confirmed the change.

It turned out PU2473A is not compatible with the system with separated JBL amp in the boot. This radio has it's own integrated amplifier so two amp together leads to high volume.
