Alternator code
Can somebody tell me the OEM code of alternator of 406 Estate 2.2 HDI (facelift)? I know there are at least 2 modifications (Valeo and Bosch which are incompatible). ServiceBox was very useful for such tasks when it had free access.

Just had a look into my "DocBackup" discs; it gives three possibilities:
- 5705AA - 150 AMP RL - until RPO no.09519
- 5705AR - 150 AMP - until RPO no.09519
- 5705AS - 150 AMP-K6-RL - since RPO no.09520

All these OEM numbers are listed with Valeo and Bosch examples. But I guess there are many more brands that are compatible. I guess what matters is the 150 Amps current and the mounting holes. And make sure the pulley runs freely in one direction; that is easily tested by carefully blocking the internal rotation with a screw driver; you'll see that the pulley will be blocked in one direction.
You can see your RPO number (DAM number) on the sticker on the inside of the driver door sil.
Not sure which one is for you, or what the differences are. Googling the numbers they all look the same.

I have one, refurbished and ready for use. I plan to offer it in internet but don't know how to define its specs or compatible models. It is dismounted from 406 Estate 2.2 HDI and guess it can be used in many Peugeot/Citroen models. I bought it second hand for my 406 but it turned out that my alternator is different.
