Hi all,
Question: does anyone have a pinout for the blue 26-prong BSI connector on a late 2003 406?
I'm trying to retrofit door sill/puddle lights. My BSI has the option to switch on this function.
Today I looked at the BSI's 26-prong blue connector. Based on a few wiring diagrams, I expected that pin 15 would be the + for the door sill lights. Turned out 15 operates the front courtesy light (on when doors open). The colour and coding didn't match my diagrams either.
Thanks for the help in advance!

Re: Door sill light - BSI pinout
Sorry I can't help with your wiring issue - not my bag, but before you get too carried away, do you have the extra wiring loom section behind the door card to power the lights?
I'm surprised a 2003 doesn't have them, even in base spec
I seem to remember a thread from many moons ago where the only thing that couldn't be retrofitted was puddle lights - however it may be possible if the BSI is simply a wire short.
Ignore the wire colours, means nothing, it's the impossible to read numbers that are important.
Let us know how you get on.

Re: Door sill light - BSI pinout
The wiring loom isn't there, was planning to guide cable from the lead on the BSI (but I don't know which one?) to the four doors.
There's this French/English forum where someone posted a pinout of the Blue 26-prong connector, but I can't get access
If no one with Sedre/Service box can get met the pinout, I'll have to spend an hour with my multimeter under the dashboard and strain my neck in the process

Re: Door sill light - BSI pinout
I used to have Sedre on my Windows 8 pc & XP laptop, but since the laptop imploded and I was forced to upgrade to Windows 10 (oh look, another BSOD ) I've not managed to get it going again, I can't even make java work for the keygen Tbh I used to be on Sedre all the time but now I only miss it a couple times a year, is it worth the ag? Well, probably for you just now it'd be extremely worth it
I had a good search around earlier but couldn't find anything so what's this French English thing about? Is it one of the many forums I saw where you need to sign up for access?
I do believe 26V BE is what you're looking for.

Yeah I'm pretty sure about the 26 Blue, it directs all the lighting-related functions. I just think the pinout changed between semi mux and full mux, and Haynes contains semi mux (MY until 2002).

Sounds better than prong...
I thought maybe it was passion-406 So I had a better look on there and I think maybe this is what you're looking for - 12v be? You'd have spent a long time looking.

Tbh I'm not entirely sure why the rear diagram doesn't show the BSI connection, I presume it's from this interconnect E320.
Yes, the semi-mux BSI is a completely different animal to the full-mux, I also wouldn't assume things didn't change across the 3 or so years they were making full-mux cars either, so don't make anything permanent without testing it first.

Re: Door sill light - BSI pinout
I just had a peek into my (still working) SEDRE and filled in the DAM number 9586 (7 Feb 2003) of my 406 HDI Estate. Indeed the diagrams as posted by Steve appear to be the right ones. So it would be pin 8 of the blue 12-way connector into the BSI box.

Re: Door sill light - BSI pinout
A big thank you for your help, frog and steve! This looks more plausible to me.
If I remember correctly the blue 12v connector on the BSI is located on the side of the firewall. As soon as I find the time I'll test it and report back.
Thanks once again!
