antipolution system defective

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

So there is a little plot-twist in here.. I think the issue might have been solved after all by replacing the MAF sensor.
It's just the error that I cannot read/delete from PP2000.

As I checked the PP2000 again, the error was still there, but I cannot even read it nor delete it.
It's been like this before, but becuase the other intermitent faults could be read/deleted I've ignored the first one.

Here I made a short video trying to read and then delete the code.. both ending in a dead way with some message and you have to press F1 to get out of there.

https://youtu.be/Q6sFA1lYs1E

When I try to read the error code I get stuck on "Control unit 1 connector ? ." and when I try to delete it, after confirming that I've read the error I get "Communication error".

Any idea why I cannot delete the error? Maybe I'm not on up to date version of PP2k or something.. What version of PP2000 do you have?

Clicking the right mouse button on the "LctPC.exe" file (the main PP2000 executable) shows my version: 1.20.0.0 .

But looking at your video, it seems that you have a correctly working version of PP2000. It has detected your vehicle type and VIN number, which is a good sign.

Difficult to say what could cause the error in the deletion of the fault code. But I'm pretty sure the fault will delete itself after 3 "reasonably long" (say 10-15 minutes) trips. So the issue should solve itself.

I have tried again and this time I've managed to clear the error.
No idea what I did differently than previous 2 attempts, maybe just a cable connection was not right.. it is a bit wiggly the connector.
Will give it a few days and retest again to see if it will come back.

Hopefully the final update:
Installed the new-ish looking sensor and it had the clip that holds the cable in broken... had to use cable tie to make sure the cable won't fall out.
But, other than this little mechanical hiccup (now I know why it was so cheap lol) it looks like it's working correctly! I cleared the error and drove the car for a few days and just rechecked the pp2k and the engine section is now fault free! :cheesy:
