Help with airbag plugs please

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Help with airbag plugs please

Post by Lee1978 »

Hi all, i have a 2002 406 and need a bit of help, its a long story but i need someone to take a look at the back of their com2000 and tell me the colours of the wires for their airbag connections. If the 406 is the same as the com2000 i'm looking at there is a blue plug on the bottom left (as you face the steering wheel on the back of the com unit) what colour are the wires going into that blue plug? There will be another plug on the opposite corner, what colour is that plug and what colour are the wires going into it?

This is the diagram I could find on the SEDRE disc for the COM2000 unit for your vehicle (I guessed your DAM/RPO number to be around 9350):

Image

The meaning of the color codes:

BA: white.
BE: blue.
BG: beige.
GR: gray.
JN: yellow.
MR: brown.
NR: black.
OR: orange.
RG: red.
RS: pink.
VE: green.
VI: mauve.
VJ: green/yellow.

6565 is the "driver's air bag module"
6570 is the "air bag and pre-tensioners control unit"

Lee1978,

Sorry for the slow reply, I don't come on here often these days

Anyway,
I've just screwed mine all back together because of a airbag fault.
I looked at the plugs for you today.
Mine is a 2002 full mux with com2000.
So sat in the driver's seat with the ignition barrel on your right.
It's a brown plug with top wire, Orange with Yellow tracer
Bottom wire, Yellow with Orange tracer.

Left hand side, from the driver's seat
Blue plug with top wire,. Yellow with Orange tracer
Bottom wire,. Orange with Yellow tracer

Now as a side note these wires do have identifying no's on them but I couldn't read mine

(sorry but I wasn't going to disconnect the battery & BSI sleep / reset just to look for that for you).

Hope this helps if you haven't already sorted it.
