not a 406 but....

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

not a 406 but....

Post by andythediver »

hi i know this is the wrong site to post this but its kinda 406 related in as much as if i hadn't bought a 406, i would not have run down the battery on my 405 to the point that i have lost the radio code

i actually have the code but the radio stubbornly sits with security on the display after 12 hours still the same

the radio is PU-9833A standard fit on 405 glx how do i get the radio to say code in again? [like i said, i have the code] its 4335

Woah....
Edit your post now man... get that code off! You shouldn't post something as sensative as that on a public forum.

it's only the radio code - not my bank details lol
for it to be of benefit, someone must a - know my address
b- know which peugeot has the dodgy radio
c - be brave enough to break in to the car to steal a mediocre quality radio
d - be able to fix the darn thing!!

i posted the code to prove that i was not making up the fact that i had the code, i'm not after a code as such, im after a method of entering it into the radio when all the radio will display is "security" i have fount the test facility which allows the radio to play for a few minutes without a code by holding down the bnd button while switching on but after a few minutes it goes back to security
any ideas?

oh deary me, i've got one of those PU 9833A things sat on top of my drawers right now lol. good tape deck in there day but i couldn't live without a CD player at least.
It sounds like the unit is permanently locked. memory serves me correct after 3 incorrect attempts the unit locks and needs to be left switched on for at least 60mins undisturbed before it will unlock again to let you try the code. but if you are saying that it doesn't after 12 hours then i don't know!
I used to have a 405 GLX as well, lovely car still miss it today some great memories and fantastic trips in it.

there may be button you have to press and hold to enter the code. On my 306 it was a button with a wee wavey line on it. I held it in for a few secs then it turned to the '----' display which you enter the code into.
