406 ABS LIGHT

Post by tonirlane »

hI there, 110 406 estate 2000 model. The ABS light keeps comming on intermittantly, sometimes after 1/2 hr driving sometimes after 1/2 minute, some times not for a day or so. Car does 80miles/day. Have checked resistance readings on all 4 sensors and the all read the same. Have disconnected and wd40tid all the connectors, no difference. really annoying when you can't see the clock, temp and which radio stn you have on.

Any body got an idea ??

clean the sensors and check your disc brakes are not rusting from the inside out

i had this on my 106gti. the discs were rusting from the inside as they were vented, then the metal would stick to the magenetic abs sensor and cause a fault until the bit of metal fell off :)
