406 exec seat and mirrors

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

406 exec seat and mirrors

Post by say_frost »

Hi just bought a 1996 1.9 td 406 executive with no users manual, How do I set the drivers seat and electric door mirrors in memory; so that the mirrors do not keep moving every time I start the car?

The controls for the seats are rather simple.

Get the seat set how you like it. Hold the M button down and press 1 or 2.

I have mine set to normal & reversing (mirrors dipped)

Thanks V6Exec, I did manage to figure out the seat position controlls, but my problem is that the electric mirrors do not hold their position for either seat position 1 or 2; every time I get into the car and insert the key and enter the code, the mirrors move from their set position. This prompted me to think that there might be some other sequence for setting the electric mirrors?

The mirrors are controlled by the ECU under the seat. The jiggle sounds like a reset, so perhaps there is a circuit break somewhere. Could be that the permenant live is broken.

Time to give it a try :cheesy: :cheesy:

Had my exhaust clamps sorted and my wheels balanced, both times it was great to get in, press the button and my seat is back where __I__ want it :cheesy:
