Indicator bulb strangeness

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Indicator bulb strangeness

Post by steve_earwig »

A funny thing happened on the way to the MOT (or equivilent), one of my back indicator bulbs blew, when I pulled it out I noticed that it'd once been orange but the box of spares (which we have to carry by law here) only had a clear one. Oh dear, how sad, never mind. They never worried that they weren't orange before anyway. The only thing was when I tried to fit it the damn thing wouldn't go in and, when I took a closer look, the bayonet pins aren't at 180 degrees. I dug out another box of spares I had and there was an orange, also with skewed pins. Are the UK cars the same, or is this some feindish forign plot to confuse the ignorant?
