I want to change the radio on my 98 LX from the display on the radio type to the JBL/CD changer with the display where the outside temp display is.
On my Coupe the display has 2 lines of electrical connectors, and the LX has 1.
Has anyone changed the wiring over,is it a seperate loom?

Re: Radio/temp/computer display upgrade
The display is also a trip computer. The bottom row of connections provides the connection for the temperature sensor and for the radio display, whereas the top row has the trip computer connections. Cars without trip computer functionality will have just the bottom connector.

I swapped the one in my old '98 LX for one out of a GLX so that I could add a changer, had to get the display too but it all plugged straight in.

Re: Radio/temp/computer display upgrade
The display had 2 rows but the car only had one, so the radio display worked but there was no outside temp / trip computery stuff. Theres a switch on the side of the display with 4 settings which alters what the display shows and it's layout (IIRC when there's no signal being recieved for the outside temp the display just flashes "----", so you need to turn that bit off), can't remember the setting you need so I recommend experimentationshelleyamy wrote:Did the one you put in have 2 rows of connectors, and does your car have the 2 row connector?DaiRees wrote:I swapped the one in my old '98 LX for one out of a GLX so that I could add a changer, had to get the display too but it all plugged straight in.

The temperature sensor connection is on the bottom row along with the radio display... No idea which pin it is thoughDaiRees wrote:The display had 2 rows but the car only had one, so the radio display worked but there was no outside temp / trip computery stuff.
