Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Engine Service Indicator Resetting

Post by ukharper »

Peugeot inspection spanner reset instructions.

With ignition switched off hold down your trip reset button (the one that resets your mileage to 0)

Turn the ignition key to the second stop

The display will count down from 10 to 0.

Keep holding until it passes 0

Once passed 0 your service light will be reset

All done!

I'm quite surprised my d8 doesn't have a service indicator... i thought it was supposed to have one...

Maybe I've got a bulb gone... Think now I've got the new job I'll invest in a small pile of bulbs+holders. Put something in some of the holes, see what lights up

Last time I did that, I gained a 'door open' light :)

The service indicator is part of the mileage cluster and the oil level indicator. You won't have one on a D8 :(

People think thunder and lightning is a natural phenomenon but it's not. It's actually distant 406s that have had their owners let the service indicator get to zero...

I remember last time I reset mine, then after exactly 12 months it wiped off 3000 miles overnight because I hadn't reached the mileage needed

I don't bother with it because I do so little mileage. When it gets near the end I just reset it regardless of what oil changes I've (my mechanic's) done :cheesy:
