D9 window switches

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

I now have the connector for the passenger front door,5 wires are the same colour as the original connector but there is a small green/yellow wire extra on the D9 connector.

anyone got any idea where this connects to?

Earth, according to Haynes, so it's probably anything but the oeuf...

The D8 diagram doesn't actually feature any colours, which is probably why you didn't get much response before. Probably best to meter/test lamp it to be sure.

How did you manage to fit the D9 cards to the front? I know they "fit" but there's nothing to securely hold it in place. Did you create your own bracket thingy?

Back ones obviously fit as standard with a slight modification to the door handles.

As for the switches, I am going to make a converter so that I don't cut any wires. Will probably use a multimeter to work it all out.

But that's a job for a warmer weather!

Simply Captain-down the scrappy with the cordless drill & get the brackets off a D9-scrappy is full of D9's but not many D8's about, more reliable i suppose :cheesy:

Re -the rear door handles, ones on the D9 cards were rough so i swapped them for the D8 handles (no switches either)

As for fettling the different connectors-few cans of lager to the son & heir to fit small lugs onto D9 tails & plug into D8 connector

simple innit

think you got that slightly wrong old codger :) lack of D8's in scrapyards is due to their owners not
being able to afford to upgrade to sheer style and performance of a D'9 hence the constant fettling,
and there maybe 1 or 2 D9's in the scrappy but this is usually due to accident damage usually inflicted
at the high speeds these much adored cars are capable of  :cheesy: :cheesy: :cheesy:

It is more likely that the driver behind was transfixed by the beauty of the D9. :cheesy:
Remember - it only takes a few inches of water to drown a 406 don't make the same mistake I made! The V6 Exec is no more.
